Walk/Run Locations and Workouts for this Week Sept 29 - October 5, 2008

This should be a fun week with lots of stuff going on. The group meets:

  • Tuesday, September 30 for drop-in track workouts at Kezar in San Francisco at 6:30 PM
  • Wednesday, October 1 for drop-in track workouts at Piedmont Hi in Piedmont at 6:30PM
  • Saturday, October 4, run 3 - 14 miles at Sawyer Camp (San Mateo) at 8:30 AM
  • Sunday, October 5, walk/run 3 - 14 miles at the Harbor Bay Ferry Landing in Alameda at 9:00 AM

    Directions to Sawyer Camp
    Meet 8:30 at the trail head of Sawyer Camp Trail Park at Crystal Springs Reservoir

    To Sawyer Park Trail South Entrance in San Mateo - From I-280 (north or south) take Black Mountain Road/Hayne Road Exit. Go west to Skyline Blvd., then south on Skyline one mile to trail entrance at the junction of Skyline Blvd. and Crystal Springs Road.

    Park on the shoulder of the road but be careful to note the "parking signs" and not to park where it is not allowed.

    Bathrooms and water are available. The best thing about this site is that every 1/2 mile is marked!

    Directions to Alameda Ferry Landing
    Meet Alameda Ferry Landing Parking Lot at Mecartney/Harbor Bay Parkway
    Meet at 9:00 in front of Ferry Station
    Toilets, free parking, water available

    From Berkeley and San Francisco Follow directions to Robert Crown Memorial State Beach until you get to Otis Street. Turn left on Otis instead of entering Robert Crown Memorial State Beach. Stay on Otis for approximately 2 ½ miles, crossing the Bay Farm Bridge. Take the first Right on Island. Follow Island approximately 1 mile to Mecartney. Go Right on Mecartney and follow all the way to the end. Turn Left into the ferry landing parking lot.

    From San Jose 880 North, Exit Davis Street, turn left on Davis at end of exit, Right on Doolittle Drive, Stay on Doolittle to Otis. Go left on Island. Follow Island approximately 1 mile to Mecartney. Go Right on Mecartney and follow all the way to the end. Turn Left into the ferry landing parking lot.
